Sting in the Tale is a Dorset based cultural organization that celebrates the traditional art form of oral storytelling.

It provides opportunities for professional storytellers to perform at 'one- off' events and at an annual summer festival. Performances are scheduled indoors and outdoors, and include some of Dorset’s finest historical venues.

Sting in the Tale invites you to an Open Forum - Posted on: 23-09-2016

Thursday 29 September, 10:00 am at Allendale House, Wimborne, BH21 1AS

Sting in the Tale Storytelling Festival has been delivering a high quality programme of storytelling events for thirteen years, and over this time has brought Storytellers to new venues and new audiences to storytelling. Each summer Sting in the Tale has entertained, educated, enchanted and enthralled people of all ages reaching, on average, over 2,000 people per annum.

The Festival is currently run by a small volunteer committee and is need of fresh impetus and a new structure and approach, so we invite you to join us to give us your thoughts and suggestions on the future for Sting in the Tale.

If you could spare a couple of hours (refreshments are on offer!) please come along on 29th September and help us gather ideas on how the Festival should be organised, programmed, funded and governed.  Who should it be aimed at, what sort of performers, performances and events should be included, what geographical area should it cover?

We hope you are able to come along, we are not looking for any long term commitment, just the thoughts of those with an interest in arts and culture, if you are able to join us please let the team at East Dorset Heritage Trust know, or mail:
